The Chesterton golf team scored a 158 on Tuesday night defeating DAC rivals LaPorte (163) and Michigan City (181) on the front 9 at Michigan City Municipal. Leading the way for Chesterton was Jake Bobin with an even par 36. After starting with an uncharacteristic double bogey, Bobin rolled off four straight birdies to get his round back together. He was the low score for all three teams. Freshman Miles Mulcahy shot a 40 (+4) highlighted by back-to-back birdies on holes 7 and 8. Also with a 40 was fellow freshman Liam Henley who played in his first varsity conference match. His highlight came on the par 4 9th hole with a chip in eagle. Freshman Zac Racette rounded out the scoring with a 43 (+6). Massimo Popa also shot a 46 on the afternoon for Chesterton. On the JV side, Chesterton shot a 173 besting both LaPorte and Michigan City. Leading the way was Tyler Racette with a 41 on the course's back 9. Drew Pacilio, who had one birdie, and Mace Redman shot a 43. Owen Sartin shot a 46 and Brady Stephan shot a 48.
