The Lady Lions of Bremen got their spring break started off with some hot performances despite the cold and rain of Northern Indiana. Seven girls represented the team in Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon and evening competing in the Hoosier State Relays, the state indoor track and field finals. By the end of the evening the girls were able to accomplish multiple season best performances, garner numerous medals, and earn a new school record. Hannah Pezzuto got the team started in the 60 meter hurdles with a new best time of 10.123 seconds placing her 17th overall. Skylee Feathers was the sole field event representative for the girls competing in the high jump. Feathers cleared 5’0” and ended in a tie for 11th place. The girls first medal performance came in the 4x200 relay as Sara Sahlhoff, Elle Libey, Kila Foster, and Emma Kincaid dropped an incredible 2 seconds to set a new school record after previously breaking it last year. The girls blazing time of 1:47.74 placed them 5th overall. Sahlhoff, Libey, and Kincaid were then joined by Kate Kincaid for the second medal performance of the night when the 4x400 relay dropped more than 12 seconds from their qualifying time, bypassed more than two heats of teams, and led them to a 5th place overall finish. Their time of 4:11.77 places them as the third best time in school history.
