he Carroll Chargers’ memorable 2025 campaign came to a close Friday night at Chargers Stadium, as Westfield powered past them 35–14 in the IHSAA Semi-State. Despite a strong start, Carroll couldn’t keep pace with the Shamrocks’ relentless ground attack. Carroll struck first when quarterback Gabe Frisinger capped a 12-play, 80-yard drive with a 13-yard keeper. He later connected with Mason Baughman for a 23-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, giving the Chargers a 14–7 lead. But Westfield answered before halftime, knotting the score at 14–14, and never looked back. The second half belonged to Westfield running back Deacon King, who scored four touchdowns and rushed for 136 yards on 25 carries. His short-yardage scores and a 23-yard burst in the fourth quarter sealed the Shamrocks’ victory. Westfield finished with 271 rushing yards and controlled possession for nearly 30 minutes, wearing down Carroll’s defense. Frisinger led Carroll with 201 passing yards and a touchdown, while Baughman hauled in six catches for 82 yards. Defensively, Eli Neuhouser and Linkoln Grabner each recorded 14 tackles to keep Carroll in the fight. The Chargers close their season at 9-4, highlighted by a run to the Semi-State and a resilient senior class that set the tone for the program. Westfield (11–2) advances to the State Championship after claiming the Semi-State crown.
