In a hard-fought SAC matchup on September 12, the Carroll Chargers came up just short against Bishop Dwenger, falling 9–6 in a game dominated by defense and special teams. Carroll struck first with a 21-yard field goal from Corbin Dempsey midway through the first quarter and added another from 28 yards out in the second to take a 6–3 lead into halftime. Despite outgaining Dwenger with 330 total yards—including 283 through the air—Carroll couldn’t find the end zone. Bishop Dwenger relied on the steady leg of Lucas Nguyen, who nailed three field goals from 20, 30, and a game-winning 52 yards in the fourth quarter. Running back Gus Tippmann carried the load for the Saints with 155 rushing yards on 36 attempts. Carroll quarterback Gabe Frisinger threw for 226 yards, while Jaidon Van Pelt and Harrison Scheele combined for over 230 receiving yards. However, a fourth-quarter fumble and a late interception stalled Carroll’s comeback hopes. The loss drops Carroll to 1–3 on the season and 1–1 in SAC play, while Bishop Dwenger improves to 3–1 overall and remains unbeaten in conference action.
