The Carroll Chargers opened their 2025 football season with a tough 14–7 road loss to Hamilton Southeastern on August 22 in Fishers. Despite outgaining the Royals in total yardage and first downs, Carroll couldn’t overcome turnovers and a struggling run game. Quarterback Gabe Frisinger threw for 255 yards on 20 completions, but was intercepted three times and sacked repeatedly, contributing to Carroll’s net rushing total of –11 yards. Harrison Scheele led the receiving corps with 122 yards on eight catches, while Logan Heath and Mason Baughman added solid contributions. Carroll’s lone score came in the second quarter when Eli Neuhouser punched in a 3-yard touchdown run to tie the game 7–7. Neuhouser also led the defense with 11 tackles. However, Hamilton Southeastern responded late in the third quarter with a 3-yard touchdown run by Carter Reed to reclaim the lead. The Chargers had multiple chances to rally but were stymied by turnovers and missed opportunities on third and fourth down, converting just 4 of 15 third downs and 1 of 3 fourth downs. Carroll held the ball for nearly 28 minutes but couldn’t capitalize, falling to 0–1 on the season.
