After a few rough nights at Triton Central and Danville, it was back to play some volleyball at home versus Southmont. The night started with the Freshman team getting to play their first match of the season. The Freshman team did a fantastic job winning easy with a 25-8 and 25-15 victory. The JV also played well winning their match with a 25-11 and a 25-21 victory. The Varsity game got interesting right out of the gate. Freshman Allie Weigle went down on an ankle injury with-in the first couple of points of the first set. The Cadets worked thru the first set as best as they could only to lose the first set 20-25. The Cadets made some rotation changes and were able to overcome the injury to win the next 3 sets 25-23, 25-19, and 28-26. In the final set, the Cadets were actually down 20-24 and were able to overcome the deficit to win that final set in extra points. Next up for the Cadets is on Tuesday, September 6th at Greencastle at 5:30 with JV and 6:30 Varsity. The Freshman play next on Wednesday at home versus Cardinal Ritter at 5pm.
