The Cascade football team hosts the North Putnam Cougars for Homecoming this Friday Night. It will be the 56th meeting between the two schools. North Putnam leads the all-time series 33-22. Cadets are currently on a 2 game series winning streak beating the Cougars in 2021 9-6. The last Cougar win between the two teams came in 2016 beating the Cadets 13-20. Cadets look to get back to .500 on homecoming night. WEEK 5 RECAP Cascade hosted #1 Lutheran last Friday Night for Childhood Cancer Awareness. Cadets got off to a hot start in the first half, but turnovers and big plays continue to be the difference maker throughout the season. Cadets turned the ball over 6 times and gave up big pass game numbers. Cadets were down early 0-16, however, Cadets went on to cut the lead at half 12-16. Lutheran would go on to score 34 unanswered points in the 2nd half defeating the Cadets 50-12. SR Liam Farmer became the 5th 2,000 rusher in Cascade High School history. CADET NOTES The Cadets have shown significant improvements this year on both sides of the football, if they can manage the mental errors and put together a 48 minute contest, they can be a threat moving forward in 2A. Cadets are off to a 2-3 start with the chance to get back to .500 this week against Western Indiana Conference opponent North Putnam. Trebley leads the offense under center for your Cadets. The FR quarterback has completed 52% for 254 yards and 3 touchdowns. SR Liam Farmer leads the team in rushing and receiving amassing 956 yards on the ground and 90 through the air. Farmer has found the end zone 13 times this year. Cadets are anchored up front with an undersized, but fierce offensive line led by SR Walker Van Ness. The Cadets are averaging 344 yards of offense throughout the year. Through five weeks of the season JR Wyatt Nohren leads the team with 32 tackles, Farmer 30 tackles, Weigle 25 Tackles, and Brayden Cartmel with 24 Tackles. The Cadets defense is giving up 304 yards per game.
