Starting the season off on a strong note can set the tone for the rest of the season. Both teams have experience coming back, both teams will compete in 3A, but only one will walk away with a win. Cascade will employ their heavy run wing-t offense, while Indian Creek will bring a spread offensive look. It looks to be a decent weather game Friday Night night with a clear sky, low 80s/high 70s. Buckle up, bring your warm weather clothes and pack the stands because Indiana High School Football is back in action for a new season! CADET NOTES Cascade will look to start their season off with a big game in week 1. Cascade uses a No-Huddle Wing-T attack on offense and a 3-4 on defense. The Cadets will bring back an experienced group on both sides of the football. The Cadets will need to play great defense and run the football in order to have success Friday Night against a spread offensive attack from the Braves. JR Brady Trebley will be under center for the Cadets. He is entering his 3rd year as the starter having back to back successful years throwing the football. Trebley is completing 59% of his passes for 1,500 yards, 20 touchdowns and 5 interceptions his first two years. He looks to settle in and continue to be the leader of the no-huddle wing-t attack as the Cadets look to get off to a hot start. FR Luke Austin and FR Adrian Parsons will serve as the back-up quarterback for the Cadets. Multiple running backs will look to carry the rock for the 2024 season. JR Toby Savini is the leading returner in rushing yards with 1,600 and 15 touchdowns. JR Dayton Mink adds in another 800 yards and 14 total touchdowns. SR Tyler Hege returns with 170 yards and 2 touchdowns under his belt. The running back group averaged 293 yards on the ground last year with 42 touchdowns. Wide receivers will continue to add in their hands to the pass attack this year. Look for JR JT Roshong to get the nod at the starting WR. He has hauled in 75+ yards and 2 touchdowns in his career. SO Cooper Lievens will be his back-up. Tight ends will look to be both physical blockers and pass catchers at the tight end position. Both played a vital role in the success of the rush attack, but also in the play action pass. JR Braxton Lewis will serve as the number one tight end. Braxton is transitioning from playing OL his Freshman year. JR Royce Bright will serve as his back-up. Both are physical blockers and possession catchers for the offense. Four Seniors will anchor the offensive line for Cascade. The offensive line averages in weight a combined 205lbs. SR Josiah Murrain, SR Bryce Hofing, SR Duncan White, and SR Owen Hargis will all look to be the aggressors upfront with the massive amount of experience they bring to the table.. This group has led the way to a total of 3,750 total yards and 52 touchdowns through eleven games. The offense averages 35+ points per game. The defensive line will look to set the tone up front against a big offensive line for Indian Creek. SR Duncan White returns as the leading tackler at this position with 32 Tackles, 12 TFL, 6 sacks and 3 forced fumble. SR Josiah Murrain and JR Brody Duncan will get the nods at defensive ends on the left and right side. SO Dillon Setty, JR Dominic Appleby, SR Owen Hargis and SR Bryce Hofing will serve as back-ups for this group. This group will need to play aggressively upfront against a big offensive line. The linebacking group will look new this year replacing 4 senior linebackers. JR Braxton Lewis and JR Leland Walker will both get the start. JR Dayton Mink and FR TJ Turner will get the start at outside linebacker. Both players will bring a physical presence to the outside position looking to set the edge and make an impact on both the run and pass game. SO Wyatt Minardo and JR Baynx Stirling will serve as the back-up for this group. The defensive backs will look to anchor the 3rd level of the defense in week one. This group brings back the most experience on the team. SO Lucas Farmer, the returning leading tackler from the defense last year, will get the start at strong safety. JR Brady Trebley will anchor the other safety position. SR Daemen Mason brings back two years of playing experience at corner and JR JT Roshong will begin his 3rd year at starting on the defensive backfield. JR Marcus Hobson and SO Cooper Lievens will serve as back-ups. SR Max Stucky will handle the kicking duties for the Cadets this year. Stucky will look to replace Chase Schnarr, as he will dual sport with Soccer throughout the week and football on Friday Nights. This will be his first year kicking a football for the Cadets football program.
