Cascade 166 Cardinal Ritter 129 Speedway 87 Scecina Memorial 49 Beech Grove 26 The Cascade boys swim and dive team went into this years ICC championship meet with only one goal. Bring the first boys swimming and diving championship to Cascade. The Cadets knew that they needed to swim every event with confidence and that if they stayed with the plan they would be difficult to beat. At the halfway point in the meet the Cadets were up by 1 point. The Cadets stayed with the plan and picked up some bonus positions during the last half of the meet to stretch out the lead and secure their first championship. The Cadets started the day out with freshman diver Brayden Marcum winning the diving competition. When the swimming portion of the meet got underway the Cadets swam strong and aggressive. Caden Potters came from behind in the last 20 yards to win the 200 free with Emory Lopossa and Sawyer Ellis finishing 4th and 6th. Cason VonEhrenkrook brought home a 3rd place finish in the IM along with Zac Marcum in 6th and Ian Dockery in 9th. The Cadet sprint trio of Evan Franklin, Jackson Bolinger and Noah Bush put serious points in the Cadet column finishing 3rd, 4th and 5th in the 50 free. The same trio did the same thing in the 100 free finishing 2nd, 3rd, & 4th. In the 100 fly, Caden Potters posted a fantastic time and a second place finish while teammate Owen Myers was 4th and Zac Marcum 6th. The 500 free saw Senior Emory Lopossa finish 2nd with Silas Neeley finishing 4th and Cort Hubner 7th. The 200 free relay team of Cason VonEhrenkrook, Evan Franklin, Jackson Bolinger and Caden Potter just missed setting a new school record in there winning relay swim. The 100 backstroke had 3 freshman swimmers and they responded to the pressure with a 3rd 5th and 6th place finish. Cason VonEhrenkrook and Senior Owen Myers put the meet totally out of reach with a 1-2 finish with Cort Hubner adding the bonus insurance points with his 5th place finish. The final relay of Evan Franklin, Noah Bush, Emory Lopossa and Owen Myers sealed the championship with a 2nd place finish. The win was a total team accomplishment with the Cadets posting 17 personal best times during Saturdays meet. The boys are back in the pool on Monday night at home against North Putnam.
