It’s Youth Night. It’s Cascade vs. Monrovia under the lights. CADET NOTES Cascade enters the 2025 season looking to build off last year’s historic run and keep momentum rolling into a brand-new campaign. The Cadets open Week 1 at home against rival Monrovia, ready to showcase their no-huddle Wing-T offense and physical 3-4 defense. On offense, Cascade will once again lean on their powerful ground game and tempo to control the pace, while defensively, the Cadets aim to continue their reputation as one of the toughest, most disciplined units in small school football. The Cadet defense returns with experience and depth, looking to set the tone early in the season by shutting down Monrovia’s physical rushing attack. The rivalry adds another layer of intensity, both teams want to start the year with a statement win. For Cascade, it’s about proving that last season’s success wasn’t a fluke and that this group is ready to chase greatness all over again. The Cadets are determined to begin 2025 the same way they ended 2024, fast, physical, and relentless. Senior quarterback Brady Trebley enters his fourth and final year commanding Cascade’s no-huddle Wing-T offense. A true veteran under center, Trebley has been the heartbeat of the Cadet attack, bringing both leadership and playmaking ability to the field each Friday night. Last season, Trebley became the first 1,000-yard passer for Cascade since 2019, finishing with 1,114 yards through the air and 18 touchdowns, while adding 378 rushing yards and 8 more scores on the ground. He also climbed the school record books, moving into 2nd all-time in career passing touchdowns (40) and 4th all-time in career passing yards (2,664). His 61.7% completion rate already stands as the best in Cadet history. This fall, Trebley is aiming to close out his Cadet career by chasing the top spot in passing touchdowns, needing just 14 more to become Cascade’s all-time leader. Behind him, sophomore Luke Austin and freshman Mason Minner will provide depth in the quarterback room as the Cadets look toward the future. With his experience, poise, and proven ability to execute the Cadets’ offense, Trebley is primed to lead Cascade into another season of high expectations—starting with the rivalry showdown against Monrovia. Brady Trebley Ranks in Career Passing History: Passing Yards (Career): 4th (2,664) Passing TDs (Career): 2nd (40) Completions (Career): 4th (153) Completion % (Career): 1st (61.7%) Cascade has a four headed monster that can tote the rock for the offensive unit. SR Dayton Mink was the workhorse for the Cadets offense with 1,157 yards and 14 touchdowns last season. SR Toby Savini has added 585 yards and 8 touchdowns. Both Savini and Mink surpassed 2,000 yards last season. JR Lucas Farmer will get the nod at the left wing for the offense. SR Marcus Hobson will also get some action in the backfield, while also rotating in at WR. This group is extremely experienced and has the ability for the big play on every snap. Dayton Mink & Toby Savini Ranks in Career Rushing History: Rushing Yards (Career): Savini 5th (2,228) / Mink 7th (2,009) Rushing Touchdowns (Career): Savini 5th (24) / Mink T-3rd (27) Yards Per Rush (Career): Savini 1st (9.21) / Mink 5th (6.61) The WR group is deep this year with SR Marcus Hobson, SR JT Roshong and SR Delton Howrey leading this group with JR Cooper Lievens adding in more depth. This group will look to be the big time playmakers on the edge for the run heavy offense. Tight ends will play a significant role in the run and pass game with SR Braxton Lewis leading this crew. SR Royce Bright and JR Trent Austin will add depth to this group with all three having significant playing time since their freshmen years. Cadets averaged 400 yards per game the last two seasons and a big part of that is from the guys up front. The 2025 OL will feature one senior, two juniors and two sophomores with only one being a returning starter. SR Brody Duncan will look to lead this group Friday Night. JR Wyatt Minardo and JR Dillon Setty will anchor the tackle positions. SO Eric Appleby and SO Gunner White will get the nod at center and left guard. This group will look to create running lanes for an explosive backfield during the 2025 season. The front three defensive linemen will look to slow down an offensive run dominant. SR Dominic Appleby and SR Brody Duncan return as the starters for their senior campaign. JR Wyatt Minardo will look to slow down the interior attack. SR Bentley McClellan, JR Dillon Setty, JR Kaiden Weakley and a handful of others will be in rotation for the group up front. Cascade’s most experienced defensive unit lines up at linebacker, where senior Braxton Lewis, senior Toby Savini, senior Baynx Stirling, and sophomore TJ Turner will get the start in the season opener. This group brings a mix of leadership, toughness, and athleticism, and will be key in slowing down Monrovia’s trademark belly offense. The Cadets also feature strong depth at the position, with senior Delton Howrey and senior Dayton Mink rotating in to keep the group fresh. With so much experience and physicality across the board, this linebacker corps is built to be the backbone of Cascade’s defense in 2025. The Cascade secondary will be back to full strength for the season opener with the return of Senior Marcus Hobson, Senior JT Roshong and JR Lucas Farmer. Those three will be joined by JR Michael Langley who will earn his first career varsity experience. This group will be tested right away against Monrovia’s physical rushing attack and timely play-action passing game. A year ago, the Cadet secondary held opponents to just 87.3 passing yards per game over the course of 11 contests, proving they can lock down through the air. With added depth and experience, the Cadet defensive backs are ready to take on the challenges of the 2025 season. SR Gabriel Glaze and JR Brogan Trump will split the kicking duties for the Cadets. Both kickers will look to follow the historic season set by Max Stucky. Gabriel and Brogan both take on first year kicking opportunities and will dual sport with soccer. Gabriel will handle the kickoffs/punts and Brogan will handle the extra points. SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS Monrovia is led by 6th year Head Coach Andrew Olson, who has a record of 33-26. The Monrovia offense will look to sustain their run-heavy offense to open the season. The Bulldogs are coming into this game returning 3 offensive starters and a handful of defensive players. Monrovia will rely on a heavy Jr and So class to get the job done Friday Night. Coach Olson is 3-2 vs the Cadets in his tenure as the head coach. 2025 Schedule Week 0: @ Linton Week 1: Monrovia (Youth Night / Battle of I-70) Week 2: @ Danville Week 3: @ North Putnam Week 4: North Montgomery Week 5: @ Frankfort Week 6: Crawfordsville (Homecoming) Week 7: @ Greencastle Week 8: Southmont (Senior Night) Week 9: @ Western Boone Week 10: Sectional Quarterfinal Week 11: Sectional Semifinal Week 12: IHSAA Sectional Championship Week 13: IHSAA Regional Championship Week 14: IHSAA Semi-State Championship Week 15: IHSAA State Championship VARSITY COACHING STAFF HEAD COACH Connor Simmons 6th year at Cascade with an overall record of 28-26 Simmons currently ranks 3rd in total wins in program history with 28.
