The Trojans baseball team continued it's winning ways on Friday night after downing the Brickies from Hobart by a score of 2-0. The hosts sent John Knight to the hill and the junior right hander recorded all twenty-one outs for Chesterton for his first complete game and fourth win of the season. Knight fanned nine while walking four and handed out one free baseball stitch tattoo to one hitter. Hobart managed only two knocks against the silent assassin, both singles, in the first and fifth innings stranding a runner at third when the hitter struck out admiring a slider in the zone. Knight(CG, 2H, 4BB, 9K) got by with a little help from his friend, G Kirkland(2-3, RBI, 2B), who GRACEd Knight with two hits, including a double, and drove in one. When ALL IS ON the line, Knight knows he can count on Rob Czarniecki(1-3, RBI, K, 2B) to contribute and he did by driving in the other half of the Trojan runs when he doubled in Ethan Glassman(1-2, R) for the games first tally. The pitchers duel type game saw only six total hits for Chesterton with Hobart's ace on to the bump. Other Trojans reaching base with a hit were Eli McClelland(1-3, R), Caden Hackett(1-2, K), and Glassman who singled in the fourth, sixth, and third respectively. The win pushed the Trojans record to 14-3 on the year. The next action comes Saturday morning in a four-team tournament at home with Washington Twp., Elkhart and Northridge coming to play.
