-CHESTERTON HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS VARSITY SOCCER CHS Girls Soccer beats LaPorte 9 - 0 in Season Opener Tuesday, August 19, 2025 5:00 PM Chesterton High School @ LaPorte High School AWAY HOME 9 0 Chesterton Girls got off to a good start tonight in their season & Duneland Athletic Conference opener. The first 11 included 5 Seniors, 4 Sophomores & 2 Freshmen. There was a lot of uncertainty in how everyone would mesh. Sure it was a game where Chesterton were heavy favorites. But still, the play was sharp & full of combinations. Chances were created early & often. Senior Adey Avey capitalized on her opportunities scoring 3 goals for a first half hat trick. Eva Montes scored a goal in each half. Claire Vrahoretis scored off a free kick to add to her several assists on the night. Other goals were scored by Campbell Gingrich, Lorelai Simmons & Lilly Duracz. Defensively the team played well led by Seniors Salina Ford & Alice Fancher. All in all it was a great start to the season. Next up for Chesterton are Warsaw away tomorrow. Our girls strongly held possession the majority of the game and kept a clean sheet to top it all off. Our young team was able to capitalize on many of their chances during their first game while our defensive half held confidently in back. We have a quick turn around for our next game tomorrow at Warsaw High School.
