Varsity vs Portage (183 - 241) Win Varsity vs LaPorte (183 - 198) Win The Chesterton Trojans earned a pair of victories Tuesday night, defeating Portage 183-241 and LaPorte 183-198. The team was led by Kristin McCoy with a 42, followed closely by Taylor Kisic’s 44. Genevieve Driscoll turned in a 48, while Caitlyn Robison and Elizabeth Dodds rounded out the scoring with a 49 and 54, respectively. While the team was all smiles after picking up two wins, Coach Ward noted that the performance didn’t quite match the strong outing the night before at Sandy Pines, where the squad posted a 172. “We’re proud to come away with two victories, but I know- and they know- we’re capable of playing sharper,” Coach Ward said. “We get a couple of days of practice now before we go against Valpo, Michigan City, and Lake Central next week. We will be working hard to hone in our short game, and we’ll use this as motivation to keep improving.” With momentum from back-to-back matches, the Lady Trojans will look to find that extra consistency as they head into the heart of their season over the next two weeks.
