Lady Musketeers take second at Paul Scifres Invitational, Boys earn 4th place and show solid improvements

Eastern's boys and girls track teams traveled to neighbor, Salem High School, to compete in their annual Paul Scifres Invitational. The girls finished runners up while the lads placed fourth. Abby Fowler earned her second Most Valuable Athlete of the season with 4 first place finishes in the 100m, 200m, Long Jump and anchoring the 4x100 relay team who had a PR 54.22 seconds. Katie Hauner earned wins in the 800m and 1600m and second place ribbons in the 3200m run and as a member of the 4x400 meter relay. Addie Smith helped the 4x100 meter relay to a blue ribbon, finished 2nd in the 100m hurdles and on the 4x400 team and 3rd in the 300m hurdles. Her siter Avery Smith was also on the winning 4x100 relay team and anchored the 4x400 relay team to a second place finish while also placing 2nd in the shot put and 6th in 100m dash. Isabella Hunt rounded out the 2nd place 4x400 team, finished 8th in the 100 m hurdles, 5th in the 400m dash and tied for 6th in the high jump. Maddie Gosnell finished 4th in the Pole Vault. She was also on the 4th placed 4x800m relay team along with Leah Hobson, Cloe Shackleford, and Taylor Brading. Elainna Boyd finished 8th in women's discuss. Emma Brawner finished 6th in the 200m and ran one of her best legs in the winning 4x100m relay team. On the boys side, the team finished 4th out of 10 teams and had several PRs. The 4x800m relay team finished 3rd to open the night. Lincoln Colvin finished 5th in 110m hurdles and 6th in the Pole Vault. Jeffery Fowler finished 2nd in the Long Jump and tied for 8th in the 100m dash. Colton Brading 5th in the 100m and 200m. Eastern's 4x100m relay team finished 3rd. Kobe Goen finished 4th in the 400m run and Isaiah Hunt finished 4th in the 800m run. Both ran legs of the 4x400m relay that finished 3rd. Brandon Roberts finished 6th in the Pole Vault, Briar Martin finished 7th in the shot put and Anthony Schear finished 6th in the Discuss. The track coaching staff was pleased with everyone's overall effort and look forward to next week's challenges. The Musketeer track teams travel to Austin for a 6 team event on Tuesday and to Clarksville for the Faulkner relays.
