The Musketeers baseball team came away with a nice feather in their cap after traveling to North Harrison and grinding out a 2-1 win in 9 innings. This the 7th win on the season for Musketeers who only won 2 games last year and is their 4th extra inning win of the year. The game was tied at one in the top of the ninth when Mason Partridge singled in the go ahead run. Partridge has been clutch in these situations all year having drove in the game winning run in several of the Musketeers wins. Garrett Drury earned the win for Eastern allowing two hits and no runs over the final inning and two thirds. Gavin Hurst started the game and surrendered two hits and one run over four innings, striking out two and walking one. Partridge went 3 and 1/3 innings in relief maintaining the 1-1 tie until he was able to come up with his clutch hit in the 9th inning. It was the Musketeers lone win in MSC play this year and final win as a member of the Mid-Southern Conference. Next year, the Musketeers will join the Southern Athletic Conference. This year, the Musketeers did not play 1A perennial and SAC power Borden or Crothersville. The game against New Washington was rained out. Against other SAC opponents, the Musketeers went 3-1 losing to Lanesville and having an exciting extra inning walk off win against Henryville. The Musketeers (7-12) game tonight against New Washington has been rained out and will not be made up. The Musketeers host Mitchell on Wednesday and CAI on Thursday at Larry Ingram field. The Middle School Musketeers set at 13-4 and play their final games at Salem on Thursday.
