Lady Musketeers win at Scottsburg

The Lady Musketeers won at Scottsburg in straight sets to improve to 4-1 on the season. Set one was a little tight due as the ladies pulled away with a 25-20 win. The All For One's took over the match with a 25-8 set two win and then completed the sweep on a Sophie Gibson kill to win 25-13. The Lady M's played without starting middle blocker, Emma Brawner and right side power hitter Leah Hobson due to injury and illness. Leading the way in kills was Avery Smith with 16 to go with 8 digs. Sidney Burton chipped in 8 kills and 7 digs. Addie Smith chipped in 7. Addie Smith also had 31 assists, 7 digs and a service ace. Eliza Starrett chipped in 11 digs and ace herself. Avery Smith had 3 aces while Burton had a pair of aces herself. The JV squad lost in two sets to the Warriorettes. The Lady Musketeers have a busy week next week beginning on Wednesday at home as the JV team will play New Albany and Varsity squad will play Crothersville. On Thursday night, the Lady M's travel to play 7-1 Henryville in a pivotal clash in the Southern Athletic Conference. Finally on Saturday, the Varsity squad travels to Barr Reeve and willl play in a tournament against Barr Reeve, Crawford County and Evansville Mater Dei in pool play. Teams in the other pool include Indianapolis Lutheran, Tecumseh, CAI and Edgewood. -AFO Publications
