The 5th ranked Lady Musketeers Volleyball team repeated as Sectional 46 Champions this past Saturday with wins against Paoli (semi-final match) and Crawford County (championship match). This is the 3rd Sectional Championship in program history joining the 1993 and 2024 teams. The Lady M's will play for a Regional Title on Saturday at Charlestown against the Sectional 45 winners, Southwestern (Hanover). In the morning match against Paoli, Lady M's won (25-9, 25-11, 25-4) to advance the Championship Match. Sidney Burton had a dominant serving run in the 3rd set and totaled 9 aces on the match to go with 6 kills and 4 digs. Emma Brawner had 4 blocks and 3 kills and big presence in the middle of the net. Avery Smith lead the way with 17 kills, 3 blocks and 3 digs while sister Addison Smith had 22 assists, 10 digs, and 2 aces. Eliza Starrett had 6 digs and 2 aces, Ashton Johanningmeier chipped in 2 kills and 2 aces and Leah Hobson chipped in 2 kills and 2 digs herself. Allie Johanningsmeier had 2 digs as well. In the Championship match, Eastern defeated Crawford County 25-11, 25-15, 25-12 to improve to 29-5 and repeat as sectional champions. Avery Smith lead the way with 14 kills and 6 Aces to go with 6 digs. Eliza Starrett had 16 digs and 1 Ace while Addison Smith had 27 assists, 11 digs, 4 kills, 2 blocks and 1 Ace capping it off with the game winning kill. Sidney Burton had 6 kills, 4 aces, and 3 digs while Emma Brawner had 3 kills and 2 blocks herself. Ashton Johanningsmeier had 5 kills and 2 aces, Leah Hobson contributed 4 kills and Allie Johanningsmeier had 3 digs and 1 Ace. The Lady Musketeers improved to 29-5 and will play Southwestern (Hanover) on Saturday at 4 pm at Charlestown High School for the Regional Championship.
