Flashes Football Varsity beats Perry Meridian 29-12

The Flashes had a good start in the game vs. Perry Meridian by taking a 21-0 lead into halftime. After the half the Flashes were able to hold off Perry in the 2nd half, even though the Falcons put up a tough fight. The final score was 29-12. The Flashes were led on offense by do-it-all receiver Jayon Harvey and a strong night by QB Nevan Tutterow. The flashes offensive line led by Mike Eckerty, Christian Lopez, Demetrius Dillard, John Steinhofer, and Owen Marshall provided great protection throughout the night. Trey Hamilton led in rushing with15 carries for 58 yards, Braylen Gillard chipped in with 2 rushing TDs. Jayon Harvey finished with 11 touches, 210yds and 2 TDs. Nevan Tutterow was15/27 for 236yds 2TDs, 1 INT. The Flashes' defense after shutting out the Falcons in the first half, allowed two scores on short fields in the second half. The Flashes' defense was led by Drew Lawrence with 4 tackles and 1 pass break up (PBU)and forced fumble, Steve Kiarie with 5 tackles, 1 tackle for loss (TFL), Yushawn Hatchett with 6 tackles and 1TFL, Elijah Shankle with 3 tackles, 2 TFLs Lauron Johnson with 4 tackles and 2 PBUs, Jeremy Cox with tackles and an interception and Hudauri Hines with lockdown coverage and 4 tackles. Specials Teams was led by Drew Lawrence with big tackles and punting for a 40-yard average and Jayon Harvey blocking a PAT. Next up is a home game vs Roncalli at 7:00pm Friday.
