August Athletes of The Month

By Grant Lewis | Sep 9, 2024 1:36 PM

Congratulations to our August Athletes of the Month! Each Athlete was selected by their Head Coach based upon their performance and/or leadership during the month of August! Steve Kiarie- Steve is a man of few words but shows up every single day prepared and ready to practice. He leads by example and has not missed a workout or an opportunity to improve himself in his four year career. Cooper Trout- Coop was our top finisher in the Marion County Championships leading the boys to their 4th straight County Title! Lacie Ferguson- Choosing the August Athlete of the Month for Cheer was an effortless decision. One of our senior captains, Lacie Ferguson, was the obvious choice. She has been an outstanding leader; creating, organizing, and executing fundraisers and events. Along with the other captain, she choreographed and taught the routine, and managed the youth clinic/rec league night that involved over 300 youth cheerleaders. She prepares cheers, routines, and stunts and facilitates practice/game plans between coaches and the team. Lacie has proven to be an excellent leader for FC Cheer while dividing her time between academics and competitive cheer as well. Savana Miller- Savana was the Marion County Runner-Up for the 2nd year in a row! Brendan Engle- Brendon has lead the team on and off the court always supporting his teammates during practices and matches. Brendan has also been clutch early in the year at #1 doubles winning some big matches for FC. Mario Campos-Aviles- Mario has started the year as the unquestioned leader of the team as a Senior, and he has led the defense to be the most formidable it has been in years. Emily Williams- Exceptional leadership. Four matches of career assists. 8.1 assists per set. 14 aces Abby Mikus- Abby Mikus is the true definition of a class act. Each day she comes prepared. If it's a film session, practice, warmups, game time, she's always ready to improve and be the best version of herself in the given moment. Through her dedication and hard work Abby has achieved an offer to continue her soccer career at the University of Indianapolis. She has verbally committed to the University of Indianapolis, and we are all extremely happy for her and her decision. Abby looks to build on this and finish her high school career in a successful manner. Lilly Goeway- Lilly continues to put in time on her own outside of practice and the hard work continues to pay off as she continues to drop her scoring average #WeAreFlashes
