The Flashes kicked off the 2025 season last night at University of Indianapolis and they did not disappoint. Rylan Hainje broke the school record in the 60M hurdles with a time of 7.98 and Zeke Draher ran the 5th fastest 60M hurdles in school history with a time of 8.83. In the 60M dash, Dennis Mitchell ran 7.12 (4th all time) with Damir Swainigan right behind at 7.22 (7th all time). In the 3200, Justin Reedus ran the 2nd fastest time in school history with a 9:39 followed by Drew Wright with a 9:54 which was 6th all time. As an entertaining side note- Coach Matt Sweetman currently sits at the number 5 spot in our 3200 indoor all-time top 10 list, with a 9:53, Drew is chasing down his own coach. The 4x200 of Hainje, Mitchell, Snell, and Simpson recorded a time of 1:33.26 and is now 6th all time in school history. In the field, Preston Stokell cleared a height of 13-0 in the pole vault. Freshman Markell Bailey, in his first track meet, went 5-10 in high jump and 19-10 in long jump. This puts him at 8th and 6th, respectively, on the all-time list. Damir Swanigan long jumped 20-11 making him 4th in school history. The Flashes put up excellent numbers last night breaking records and putting up top 10 performances throughout the meet. Great job Flashes!! You can catch the action again on March 12 at University of Indianapolis where the Flashes will compete in another Hoosier State Relay competition.
