Golden Eagle Boys Lacrosse Splits the Weekend

The Golden Eagle Boys Lacrosse team opened their season with a trip to Evansville over the weekend. Friday Night, the Golden Eagles faced the defending 1A State Champion, Evansville Memorial. The team fell to 4 - 0 after a few miscues, but clawed back into the game and made it 6 - 4 at the end of the first quarter. The Golden Eagles were then able to push the game to a 7 - 7 tie by half time. The second half proved to be just as exciting as the first half with teams exchanging goals through out the remaining portion of the game. The Golden Eagles would eventually fall short, and lose the contest 15 - 12. Gavin Soucie '27 would lead the team with 5 goals, while Vinny Elliot '26 would have 2 goals and assist, JB Ford '26 would have 1 goal and 2 assists. Saturday morning brought a new challenge for the team. The Golden Eagles faced the Huskies of Evansville North. The team Jumped out to a 9 - 1 lead and never looked backed as they won the game 23 - 2. John Stordy '25 would have 10 points (6 goals, 4 assists) as would Luke Shrift '28 (7 goals, 3 assists). Aiden Ferry '26 would lead the team in ground balls with 6. The team host Noblesville tomorrow at 6:00 pm.
