Wrestling Call Outs Conditioning will begin for Wrestling on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 after school. Conditioning will be on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 3-5:00pm November 5-November 28, 2024 Students should report to the wrestling room dressed and ready to go no later than 3:00pm for conditioning. Please bring gym clothes (shirt, shorts, socks) and wrestling shoes if you have them. Tennis shoes will be allowed during conditioning, but wrestling shoes are necessary once practices begin. Please bring a water bottle to the wrestling room. Wrestling conditioning is all about allowing the athlete to work all relevant energy systems and develop strength qualities highly specific to the sport. Wrestlers know that their sport demands several key attributes: power, endurance and speed are three of the most important. Maximizing these physical qualities can make you more successful on the mat, but it does require extensive training. Conditioning plays a vital role for wrestlers, and without adequate time in the gym, your opponent can quickly pinpoint your weaknesses. Don’t risk losing the match because you didn’t put in the practice time. Doing regular conditioning exercises will help you keep your A game going strong all season long. Wrestling Practice will begin Monday, December 2, 2024; and will be Monday thru Friday after school from 3-5:30pm.
