We lost a tough, hard fought 1-4 decision to District 4, ranked #3 Delta on Tuesday. The boys came out strong jumping out to significant leads on 3 of the courts. At #1 Singles Leo Underhill cruised to a 6-0 first set, #3 Singles Jake Jenkins closed a 6-3 first set, and at #2 Doubles Austin Nunez/Cameron Hastings got out early 3-0, but fell in a tight first set 5-7. At #1 Doubles, Caden Blackford/Matt Hastings played the best doubles team we've seen all year and were down just 2-3, but ultimately dropped that 1st set. They played that team very tough and the final score was not indicative of how the match went. At #2 Singles, sophomore Trenton Boughton subbed in for the ill Vincent Farris and played hard as well in a defeat. 1 Singles - Leo Underhill won 6-0, 6-3 2 Singles - Trenton Boughton lost 0-6, 0-6 3 Singles - Jake Jenkins lost 6-3, 6-7, 10-2 1 Doubles - Caden Blackford/Matt Hastings lost 2-6, 0-6 2 Doubles - Austin Nunez/Cameron Hastings lost 5-7, 4-6 JV also fell. Varsity record is now 10-3 and will travel to Yorktown on Wednesday.
