Outstanding Athletes

Last night we honored our Outstanding Senior Athletes. Thank you to all our Seniors, we are very proud of you! The Outstanding Athlete Award is presented each year to the most outstanding senior male and female athlete. The athlete must have participated and completed two IHSAA sanctioned sports during their senior year. The award winners are selected based on votes by each varsity coach. The winners are presented a Northview Blanket for their outstanding accomplishments. The female athlete winner has participated in two sports during her high school career. She is a member of the cross country and track teams, earning 8 varsity letters. She is a 7-time WIC All-Conference Selection and a 4-time Academic All-Conference Selection. She was a major contributor in several team accomplishments which include: 3 WIC Championships in Cross Country, 2 in Track. 4 Cross Country Sectional Championships and 1 Track Sectional Championship, 2 Regional Team Championships in Cross Country and a 4 Time State Qualifier in Cross Country. Her individual accomplishments include: WIC Championships: 3-time 4x800 relay, 2-time 800m, 2-time 1600m, 3200m champion. Sectional Champion: Cross Country, 3-time 4x800m relay, 800m, 3-time 1600m, 3200m, 4x400m relay. Regional Champion: 4x800m relay. State Qualifier: 800m, 3-time 1600m, 2-time 4x800m relay. All-State: 4x800m relay with a 5th place podium finish and 16th place in Cross Country State Finals. She was an Indiana All-Star this year in Cross Country. She currently holds 5 school records in the 800, 1600, 3200, 4x400m relay and 4x800m relay. Next year she will become the 2nd female and 4th Overall in the history of Northview to compete at the Power 5 collegiate level. Next year she will attend Indiana University and compete in cross country and track. Your 2024 Outstanding female athlete goes to Ellia Hayes. The male athlete winner has participated in two sports during his high school career. He is a member of the cross country and track teams, earning 8 varsity letters and is an 8-time WIC All Conference Selection and a 2-time Academic All-Conference selection. He has been a major contributor in 6 WIC Team Championships, 2 in cross country and 4 in track. He has 2 Team Sectional Championships, 1 Regional Team Championship and has qualified for the Cross-Country State Finals 4 times. Individually, he has won the WIC Cross-Country Championship twice, as well as a 2-time 4x800m relay, 2-time 800m, 2-time 3200m and a 1600m WIC Champion. He was a Sectional Champion in 4x800m relay twice, 800m and 3200m. He has qualified for the track State Finals twice in 4x800m relay. He currently holds 2 schools records in the 800m and 4x800m relay. Next year he plans to attend Indiana State University and compete in cross country and track. Your 2024 outstanding male athlete goes to Jcim Grant. The Silver Knight Award is the highest athletic award that a Northview student can earn. The Silver Knight Award is presented to the senior athletes who have earned at least 28 athletic points through IHSAA sanctioned sports during his/her career. The point system rewards 1pt for freshman team participation, 2 pts for junior varsity and 3 pts for a varsity letter. This year we had several with 24 pts, one with 25 pts and one with 27 pts but only 1 athlete reached the 28pt threshold to earn the Silver Knight Award. Our award winner competed in Soccer, Cross Country, Basketball, Track and Unified Track. She accumulated 36 points, earning 12 varsity letters: Our winner is Brooklyn Eldridge Our last award was the Corporal Gregory Stultz Leadership Awards. Varzidy Batchelor and Douglas Dillman were our two scholarship winners.
