Bombers Score Get Victory over River Forest, Celebrate 2014 State Team

Bomber Football team took care of business vs River Forest by a score of 42-21 to improve to 3-5 on the year. Bombers were led by Senior Diego Hernandez-Reyes, who opened up the scoring from his Defensive position by scoring a touchdown on his 1st of 2 Interceptions in the evening to go up 7-0. Bombers next 2 scores were also by Diego with TD runs of 11 and 5 yards top put the Bombers up 21-0. Hernandez-Reyes also forced a fumble on defense that led to the 3rd score in the 1st quarter. In the 2nd quarter Bombers couldn't get things going offensively and ended up going into the locker room up 21-7. At halftime, the School honored the 2014 State Championship team. To start the 3rd quarter, River Forest took the ball and went on a drive and cut the lead to 21-14, however, on Bombers 1st possession of the 3rd quarter, Bombers got a huge 4th down pass and catch from Cohen Westfall to Logan Metzger that led to Diego's 3rd rushing TD on the night to push the score to 28-14. Bombers got the ball back with another INT by Diego his 2nd on the night which led to 1 play scoring drive when Westfall hit Landon Musch for a 19 yard TD pass. Musch had 5 catches on the night for 100 yards. Final score was Carter Ogborn from 5 yards away to finish the game at 42-21. Hernandez-Reyes finished with 97 yards on the ground and 3tds, while Ogborn had 74 yards and his TD. Westfall was 7-9 for 113 yards and 1 td and 1 Int right at the end of the 1st half. Leading the way defensively was Logan Metzger with 10 tackles. John Yallay had another great kicking night with 7 PAT's hit and 2 punts averaging 47 yards.
