TC GIRLS JV BASKETBALL COMES UP SHORT AGAINST RONCALLI. A furious comeback fell just shy Thursday night as the Triton Central junior varsity girls basketball team dropped a 35–30 decision to visiting Roncalli. The Tigers faced an uphill battle from the opening tip after Roncalli stormed out to an 18–2 lead in the first quarter. Triton Central responded with poise, trimming the deficit to 24–13 by halftime and continuing to chip away throughout the second half. By the end of the third quarter, the Tigers had closed the gap to 30–24, using defensive pressure and balanced scoring to climb back into contention. Triton Central drew within striking distance in the final minutes but could not fully erase the early hole. Rylee Pruitt led the Tigers with 5 points. Five players — Eliana Joy, Madison Swisher, Hayden McMichael, Kenzie Hoover, and Anna Kemper — each contributed 4 points. Peyton Fillippinie chipped in 3 points, and Laiyla McLane scored 2. The loss moves Triton Central to 7–2 on the season. The JV Tigers return to action next Thursday at home, hosting Indianapolis Shortridge at 6 PM.
