TC BOYS BASKETBALL SEASON ENDS AT SEMI-STATE. Triton Central’s memorable postseason run came to a close Saturday morning as the Tigers fell to Parke Heritage 44-38 in the IHSAA Class 2A Semi-State at Southport High School. The loss ends a historic season for Triton Central, which finishes with a 23-4 record and a collection of championships that includes the Shelby County Tournament title, the Hoosier Legends Conference crown, and both sectional and regional championships. Saturday’s semi-state matchup was a defensive battle throughout. Parke Heritage took an early 9-5 lead after the first quarter, but Triton Central responded in the second, evening the score at 16-16 by halftime. The Wolves regained control in the third quarter, outscoring the Tigers 12-7 to take a 28-23 lead into the final frame. Triton Central continued to battle in the fourth, but Parke Heritage was able to maintain its advantage down the stretch to secure the six-point win. Eli Sego led the Tigers with 18 points in his final high school game, while Brody Hartman added nine. Jackson Faust contributed six points, Brayden Hoover scored three, and Grant Long added two. Despite the loss, the Tigers’ season will be remembered as one of the most successful in program history. Triton Central not only captured multiple championships but also made a deep postseason run, advancing all the way to the semi-state.
