TC SOFTBALL FALLS IN SEASON OPENER AGAINST NEW PAL. Triton Central softball kicked off its 2026 season Thursday night with both varsity and junior varsity squads facing New Palestine Dragons softball, though the Tigers came up short in both contests. At home, the Triton Central Tigers softball varsity team fell 20-0. On the road, the Triton Central JV squad also opened its season against New Palestine, dropping a 16-2 decision. Both teams will have quick opportunities to bounce back. The JV Tigers return to action Friday night at home, hosting Shelbyville Golden Bears softball with a 5:30 PM first pitch. Looking ahead to Monday, the varsity team travels to face Greenfield-Central Cougars softball at 5:30 PM, while the JV squad will host Greenfield at home at the same time.
