TC BASEBALL BEATS SPEEDWAY. Triton Central continued its offensive surge Tuesday night, powering past Speedway 15-8 in a high-scoring Hoosier Legends Conference matchup at home. The Tigers wasted little time getting going, scoring a run in the first inning before erupting for three runs in the third and four more in the fourth to take control. After Speedway answered with a four-run third and added another in the fourth to keep things close, Triton Central delivered the knockout blow with a five-run fifth inning and added two more in the sixth to pull away. Triton Central finished with an impressive 17 hits on the night, showing production throughout the lineup. Ty Bergman led the charge with a perfect 4-for-5 performance, including three doubles, four runs scored, and two RBIs. Brody Hartman added a big night as well, going 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Nash Durbin was efficient at the plate, finishing 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, while Brayden Hoover and Weston Smith each contributed two hits. Kail Slaughter chipped in with a pair of hits and an RBI to round out the balanced attack. On the mound, Janssen Capps went the distance to earn the win, tossing all seven innings while allowing eight runs (five earned) on eight hits and striking out seven. Defensively, the Tigers battled through six errors but made enough plays behind Capps to secure the victory. With the win, Triton Central improves to 3-6 on the season and 2-3 in Hoosier Legends Conference play. The Tigers will look to keep the momentum rolling Wednesday night as they travel to Speedway for a 5:30 PM first pitch.
