GIRLS TENNIS VS. TRI-WEST (4/22)

TC GIRLS TENNIS ROLLS PAST TRI-WEST, STAYS UNBEATEN. Triton Central’s girls tennis team continued its dominant early-season stretch Wednesday night, sweeping Tri-West 5-0 on the road to improve to 7-0 overall. The Tigers once again showcased their depth and consistency, controlling play across all five varsity courts. At No. 1 singles, Maryrose Felling bounced back in impressive fashion, cruising to a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Eva Herald. Anniston Evans matched that performance at No. 2 singles, also winning 6-1, 6-0 in a dominant outing. Zhibek Zhumaly completed the singles sweep, turning in a solid 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 3. Triton Central carried that momentum into doubles play. The No. 1 team of Neve Kahler and Kate Collier handled their opponents with ease, earning a 6-1, 6-3 victory. At No. 2 doubles, Estelle Gearlds and Cadence Roberts remained steady throughout, securing a 6-2, 6-2 win to complete the shutout. The junior varsity squad added to the strong showing with a 7-0 sweep of Tri-West. Morgan Fisher led the way in singles with a 6-1 victory, while Triton Central’s doubles teams dominated across the board. The pairings of Ellie Gast and Caydence Stout, Anna Kemper and Kenzie Hoover, and Lexi Poole and Keely O’Gara each earned multiple wins in decisive fashion. With another convincing victory, Triton Central improves to 7-0 on the season. The Tigers will look to keep their perfect record intact Thursday night when they return home to host New Castle, with matches set to begin at 5:30 PM.
