TC BASEBALL COMPLETES SPEEDWAY SWEEP. Triton Central stayed hot Wednesday night, rolling past Speedway 14-4 on the road in Hoosier Legends Conference action. The Tigers came out firing and never looked back, exploding for six runs in the first inning and adding five more in the second to seize complete control early. Triton Central continued to pile on with runs in the third, fourth, and fifth innings, building a commanding lead before Speedway scored four late runs in the fifth. Offensively, the Tigers were dominant, racking up 12 hits and 14 runs. Nash Durbin led the way with a huge performance, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and five RBIs. Kellan Dishman added a big swing with a home run and three RBIs, while Brayden Hoover stayed hot with a 2-for-2 effort, two runs scored, and an RBI. Ty Bergman and Weston Smith each collected two hits, and Janssen Capps contributed a double and an RBI as part of the balanced attack. On the mound, Brody Hartman earned the win with a strong outing, tossing five innings while allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits, striking out seven and working around four walks. Defensively, the Tigers committed two errors but were solid overall, backing Hartman’s effort and limiting Speedway’s opportunities for most of the game. With the win, Triton Central improves to 4-6 on the season and 3-3 in Hoosier Legends Conference play. The Tigers will look to keep the momentum going Friday night as they return home to face Scecina, with first pitch scheduled for 5:30 PM.
