TC GIRLS TENNIS BEATS SOUTHWESTERN, IMPROVES TO 9-0. Triton Central’s girls tennis team continued its dominant stretch Friday night, overwhelming Southwestern at Triton Central High School. The Tigers left little doubt from the start, sweeping through singles play without dropping a single game. At No. 1 singles, Maryrose Felling was flawless in a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Paige Riggs. Anniston Evans matched that performance at No. 2 singles with another 6-0, 6-0 shutout, while Zhibek Zhumaly completed the sweep at No. 3 singles with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win. Triton Central carried that momentum into doubles play. The No. 2 team of Estelle Gearlds and Ellie Gast turned in another decisive performance, winning 6-0, 6-0 to clinch the team victory. At No. 1 doubles, the duo of Neve Kahler and Kate Collier had complete control of their match, leading 6-0, 5-0 before play was halted and ultimately ended due to weather, securing the fourth team point for the Tigers. With the win, Triton Central improves to 9-0 on the season and continues to assert itself as a force early in the year, showcasing depth and dominance across the lineup. The Tigers will look to keep their perfect record intact when they return to action Monday evening at home against Batesville, with matches set to begin at 5 PM.
