TC FOOTBALL BEATS HAMILTON HEIGHTS, JV FALLS SHORT. The Triton Central varsity football team earned a 28-13 victory over Hamilton Heights on Friday night, improving to 2-0 on the season. Quarterback Matthew Wilkins led the offense with 218 passing yards and two touchdowns. His top target was Zeke Robertson, who finished with eight receptions for 153 yards, including a 66-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Braden Brown added balance on the ground, rushing for 66 yards and two touchdowns. Hamilton Heights kept the game close through three quarters. The Huskies tied the game at 7-7 in the second quarter on a 53-yard touchdown pass, and they pulled within 14-13 with a short touchdown run in the third. Triton Central responded with two fourth-quarter scores to secure the win. The Tigers outgained Hamilton Heights 306 yards to 213. The defense limited the Huskies to 34 rushing yards and forced two turnovers. Brown also led the defense with nine tackles and a sack. On Saturday, Triton Central’s junior varsity team dropped a 15-14 decision to Hamilton Heights. Triton Central travels to Tri-West this Friday for its conference opener in the inaugural season of the Hoosier Legends Conference.
