TC BOYS TENNIS OUTLASTS FRANKLIN IN 3-2 THRILLER. The Triton Central boys tennis team battled to a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Franklin Community on Tuesday night, powered by a sweep of the singles courts. At No. 1 singles, Janssen Capps set the tone with a strong performance, defeating Jaxson Doddridge 6-3, 6-1. Brayden Hoover followed with a clutch win at No. 2 singles, grinding out a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Oliver Wiltz. The deciding point came at No. 3 singles, where Bradyn Robinson fought through a back-and-forth battle with Corbin Booht. After dropping the second set, Robinson regained control in the third to clinch the match 7-6 (3), 2-6, 6-2. Franklin Community answered with strength in doubles play. At No. 1 doubles, Ethan Barnes and Luke Sherry rallied past Max Crouse and Caleb McGuire 1-6, 6-1, 6-3, while Jonah Henry and Carsten Bland added a win at No. 2 doubles, topping Drayton Kermode and Graham Gast 6-1, 6-3. In junior varsity action, Franklin Community claimed a 6-2 win. Triton Central’s highlights came from Colton Ayres at No. 3 singles, who edged Connor Wallace 8-6, and the No. 5 doubles pairing of Talan Canter and Ayres, who teamed up to defeat Connor Baldwin and Levi Martin 8-3. With the win, Triton Central improves to 5-2 on the season. The Tigers return to action tonight at home against Greenfield-Central, with matches starting at 5:30 PM.
