TC BOYS TENNIS BEAT DECATUR CENTRAL. The Triton Central boys tennis team turned in a dominant performance Thursday night, sweeping host Decatur Central 5-0 in varsity action and earning a 6-1 victory in the junior varsity match. The win improves the Tigers’ overall record to 6-3 on the season. In singles play, Triton Central controlled every court. At No. 1 singles, Janssen Capps cruised past Chase Schulke, 6-1, 6-0. Brayden Hoover followed with a convincing 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles over RJ Ison, while Bradyn Robinson dropped only two games in his 6-1, 6-1 win against Levi Schick at No. 3 singles. The doubles teams were just as sharp. Max Crouse and Caleb McGuire rolled to a flawless 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 1 doubles against Luis Sanchez-Gonzalez and Caleb Throop. At No. 2 doubles, Drayton Kermode and Graham Gast paired for a strong 6-1, 6-1 win over Hunter Willis and Tylor Collins to complete the varsity sweep. The Tigers also saw plenty of success in junior varsity play, topping the Hawks 6-1. Talan Canter opened with an 8-3 win at No. 1 singles, followed by commanding victories from Cash Eck (8-0), Colton Ayres (8-0), and Hyatt Watson (8-3) to sweep the singles courts. In doubles, the team of Owen Rice and Brylon Scott defeated Raymond Cruz and Justin Lewis, 8-2, while Rylan Anderson and Jason Gregory posted an 8-0 shutout. Decatur Central’s lone win came at No. 3 doubles, where Erik Skaggs and Casey Garcia defeated Luke Dunn and Robbie Brown, 8-4.
