The Wabash Lady Apaches lost a tough conference game to Manchester, after remaining tied 1-1 after regulation and 14 minutes overtime, to send them to penalty shootout. Junior goalkeeper had an incredible game from start to finish, having 18 saves and a big penalty save to keep the team alive. Junior Graci Napier played strong the entire game, controlling the center of the field and distributing for offensive opportunities. Senior Kiana Jones held the defense strong and provided great service to the team the entire game. Sophomore Jaycee Jones also provided very strong defensive minutes for the Lady Apaches. The lone Wabash goal in regulation was scored by junior Kait Honeycutt, unassisted. After remaining scoreless in overtime, the team moved to penalty shots, with the first five players up to shoot. After the first round of 5, the teams remained tied at 2 apiece. Senior Kiana Jones and Sophomore Logan Wright both put away their penalty shots. That lead us to sudden death penalties, with both juniors Kait Honeycutt and Abbie Hipskind making their penalty shots, but Manchester put away their 3rd shot and won the game. It was a fantastic effort by the Lady Apaches! Wabash plays Lapel in non-conference play on Thursday at home at 6pm on Alumni Field. Come cheer on the Apaches on their Senior Night!
