Wabash Varsity Apaches Falls To Manchester

Wabash Varsity Apaches fell to Manchester 5-2 on Tuesday. Manchester got on the board in the second inning after Landen Bean doubled, scoring one run. Manchester scored one run in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run to center field by Harper Sturtsman. Wabash Varsity Apaches tied the game in the top of the fifth thanks to a dropped third strike by Manchester, and a single by Haiden McWhirt. Manchester captured the lead, 5-2, in the bottom of the sixth after Sturtsman homered to center field, Wabash Varsity Apaches committed an error, and Hunter Hamilton doubled down the right field line, each scoring one run. Sturtsman earned the win for Manchester. The hurler gave up two hits and two runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out 12 and walking four. Cooper Long took the loss for Wabash Varsity Apaches. The starting pitcher went six innings, surrendering five runs (three earned) on nine hits, striking out three and walking one. McWhirt and Sam Harris each collected one hit for Wabash Varsity Apaches. McWhirt and Derek Reed each drove in one run for Wabash Varsity Apaches. Treyce Daughtry stole two bases. Wabash Varsity Apaches stole six bases in the game. Wabash Varsity Apaches turned one double play in the game. Manchester amassed nine hits in the game. Sturtsman drove the middle of the lineup, leading Manchester with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 2-for-2 on the day. Bean and Sturtsman each collected two hits for Manchester.
