Wabash traveled to Northfield on Wednesday evening for Wabash’s first tennis match of the night. Northfield came away with a 5-0 victory. Alexa Johnson, 1 singles, fell 0-6, 0-6. Emma Adams, 2 singles, fell 1-6, 0-6. Hadley Schuler, 3 singles, fell 1-6, 2-6. Coach Ford shared, “Although Emma lost, I’m extremely pleased with the way she took the skills she has learned in practice and the advice I gave her during the match to change her style of play. This will help her tremendously the rest of the season and moving into next year”. The 1 doubles duo of Maddie Von Uhl and Abbi Hipskind started off slow, losing their first set 0-6. However, their game started to come together in the second set. They fought back, but the duo still came up a little short. They dropped their second set 5-7. Bridget Bailey and Emma Weaver (2 doubles) had the longest match of the night. A majority of their games went into deuce multiple times, but they were never able to capitalize on their opportunities. They eventually lost 3-6, 1-6. At JV action, Sophie France and Amanda Alspach were both defeated. Sophie lost 3-6, while Amanda lost 2-6.
