After the Northfield match, Wabash traveled back to their home courts to face off against Manchester. This was also Manchester’s second match of the night. Playing under the lights, Wabash lost 0-5 to the undefeated conference opponent. Historically, Manchester has been a very strong team. This year was no different. Manchester was able to sweep the singles positions without losing a single game. Maddie Von Uhl and Abbi Hipskind (1 doubles) were able to steal 1 game off their opponents, losing 0-6, 1-6. Once again, the 2 doubles team of Emma Weaver and Bridget Bailey had the longest match of the night. After fighting hard, they fell 3-6, 3-6. Sophie France and Amanda Alspach teamed up to play JV 1 doubles together. The freshmen duo lost to a more experienced team, 1-8. Coach Ford shared, “Going into the match, we knew Manchester would be a tough opponent. Their shot selection was phenomenal, and they were strategic with the ball. This was a great learning experience for us, and I hope we can come back stronger and be more prepared for future challenges”.
