Varsity vs Peru High School (1 - 4) Loss Wabash fell to Peru in TRC action Wednesday evening with a match score of 1-4. The lone win for the Apaches came at 3 singles from Senior Ashton Coffman. "Ashton has been on a run of wins lately and has been a big contributor to our team as we were able to go 2-1 this week. We expected to see this type of performance from him as his style of play lines up well to succeed at the 3 singles position." Coach Mattern. Coffman pulled out the win in 2 sets with a comfortable score of 6-2, 6-3 over Musser from Peru. At 1 singles, Matten started slow losing set 1 by a score of 1-6 to J. Boswell from Peru. Settling in a bit in the second set, Mattern played better closing the gap but still falling by a score of 3-6. Cooper Long also played well but was unable to get the win falling to L. Musser 4-6, 4-6 in a well played match on both sides. Both doubles teams struggled against two very good and technically sound teams. At 1 doubles, Clay Shepler and Dylan Pence lost 0-6, 0-6 and at 2 doubles Karson McKenzie and TJ Tracy also fell 0-6, 0-6. Both Wabash teams showed continued improvement and were able to learn more about the game from this match. Wabash Falls to 9-10 on the season and 1-4 in TRC play.
