The running Lady Apaches took off on Saturday morning to race at the West Noble’s Chuck Schlemmer Memorial Invitational. With the course a giant haze, the girls took off racing into the dense fog with aggressive speed. The Apaches came to the 1st mile mark on pace, hanging towards the front of the packs. Into the 2nd mile, the girls battled it up and down the back side slopes. Fighting through the workout soreness from the week, the running Apaches crossed the mats giving it their all. Their efforts earned them a 15th place finish out of 27 teams. First for the team was sophomore, Mia Fairchild, placing 56th, with a time of 22:03. Next up was our team senior, Ivy Beamer, with a time of 23:02 and placing 87th overall. Following in behind Beamer was a junior, Haylee Friend, who came in 116th place with a time of 24:10. Following close behind was Paula Alvarez-Ibanez, a sophomore, with a time of 24:16. Alvarez-Ilbanez took 120th place. Mallory Tart, with a time of 24:21 in 123rd place. Following Tart was junior, Maya Howard, with a time of 24:41. Howard finished in as the 126th individual. There were 177 runners in the their race. The running Lady Apaches will be at it again next week on Tuesday for their senior night on their home course!
