The running Lady Apaches came out with tenacity and attacked their home course early Saturday morning. Thundering up Green Grass Hill, the girls pursued the first 1k of their course. The girls trekked up Stairway to Heaven, hitting their mile times one after another. Preparing for the last hill, the girls had no tears as they made their way to the finish after pounding the pavement on Cry Baby Hill. The Apaches came in fighting to the finish. There was no stopping their hard work today as each of the girls found success out on their home course. The girls raked in 3rd place as a team thanks to their tremendous races! Coming in first for the running Apache crew was 7th grader Teresina Cordes, winning the race with a time of 11:55. Second for the team was a 7th grader, Sutton Stoffel, running in with a season PR time of 13:18 and placing 11th overall. Coming in behind her in 25th place was 7th grader Kinslee McBride, running a career PR tied time of 14:09. Next into the shoot was 7th grader, Briar Stoffel, running in with a PR time of 14:57 and taking 34th place. Rounding out the Apaches was 6th grader Adelyn Edwards with a career PR time of 20:27 and placing 59th over all. There were 59 runners in the varsity race. The girls will be running again next weekend at the Running Rivers Conference at Manchester.
