Wabash Tennis Defeats Elwood in Non-Conference Match The Wabash boys’ tennis team picked up a strong win over Elwood on Monday evening, taking four of five matches for a 4–1 victory. At the top of the lineup, Eli Mattern dominated at No. 1 singles, cruising to a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Cooper Long followed with another decisive performance at No. 2 singles, dropping just one game in a 6-0, 6-1 win. Wabash also claimed the No. 3 singles point as Elwood was forced to forfeit the match. In doubles play, Karson McKenzie and Dylan Pence battled at No. 1 doubles but fell 0-6, 1-6. The No. 2 doubles pairing of TJ Tracy and Reed Wiles provided the highlight of the evening, rallying for a three-set thriller. After splitting sets 5-7, 6-4, the Apache duo pulled away in the decisive 10-point tiebreak, earning a 10-6 victory to secure the team win. Wabash improves its record and continues to build momentum heading deeper into the season.
