Wabash MS Girls Raced at West Noble Chuck Schlemmer Memorial Invitational

The Wabash Middle School girls cross country team turned in a determined performance this weekend, powering through a demanding course marked by several steep slopes and rolling terrain. With the team split amongst two races, both groups were able to get a team score! With the heat of the day, both varsity and reserve races were ran with power and tenacity. It was an exemplary race day for all! Coming in first for the running Apache varsity race crew was 8th grader Teresina Cordes, taking 5th place overall and running a time of 11:21. Second for the team was 8th grader, Sutton Stoffel, running in with a career PR time of 12:17 and placing 24th overall. Following in was 7th grader AdaLynn (Grace) Jones with a season PR time of 13:08 and taking 68th place. Another orange and black runner into the shoot was 8th grader, Briar Stoffel, running in with a time of 14:30 and taking 126th place. The next Apache was our 5th grader, Eva Sommers, with a time of 15:10 and placing 152nd as an individual. The next Apache in was 6th grader Isabella Scott with a time of 15:42 and placed 161st overall. Next for the Apaches was 5th grader, Ruby Cantrell, running in with a time of 16:31 and placing 179th. In the varsity race, there were 196 runners and the girls placed 14th out of 25 complete teams. There were 36 schools represented within their race. For the reserve race, our team of 5 came in with their best efforts. First for this race on our team was 6th grader Braelyn Kelly with a time of 15:41 and placing 95th overall. Following into the shoot was 7th grader Alexis Lynn with a time of 17:15. Lynn placed 140th overall. Next in was 5th grader, Rory Edwards, with a time of 18:59 and finishing in 163rd place. Up next was 7th grader Adelyn Edwards finishing her race in season PR time of 19:03 and placed 164th overall. Round out the Apaches was Harper Ellet, a 7th grader, finish her race with a time of 21:08 and taking 178th place. The Apaches toed the line with 178 athletes and placed 15th. There were 15 complete teams, with 26 schools represented in their race. The Wabash Apaches will be racing again next Saturday on their own home turf at the Wabash City Park. Come and support these amazing athletes as this is the last race our 5th graders will have for the season!
