Girls XC kicks off '22 season in Terre Haute

The girls cross country team started the 2022 season where the 2021 campaign ended - the Lavern Gibson Championship XC Course in Terre Haute. For nearly twenty years, the course has hosted the IHSAA State Meet along with more than a dozen NCAA Division I XC Championships. Last year's squad placed 24th at the State Meet after the 2020 squad narrowly missed qualifying. In a deep field, the Red Devils finished 14th of 32. Junior Henny Schminke (24th - 21:02) and freshman Annie Dunford (36th - 21:18) led the way. Senior Krisha Shah finished as the team's third runner in 71st - 22:00. Junior Shannon Dineen (106th - 22:45) and freshman Alivia Lewis (114th - 22:54) rounded out the team's scorers. Other varsity finishers Grace Williams (12) - 140th - 23:19 Sophie Greenwell (11) - 172nd - 23:59 Sarah Flesher (9) - 181st - 24:07 Joselyn Jundos (11) - 194th - 24:22 Reesa Leeper (9) - 211th - 24:40 Addie Gustus (10) - 229th - 25:02 The Red Devils are back in action next Saturday, 8/20, at the Zionsville Invitational - held at Northview Church in Carmel.
