The Red Devils open their season with a big win at Southwestern West Lafayette started off hot with a 26-5 lead at the half and stretched it out in the second, for a 48-19 win. A balanced attack saw eight players score on the night, lead by Martin Vega-Diaz with 16. In the paint, Calvin Snyder pulled in 6 rebounds. Jaece Vogt contributed with 8 points and 4 steals. Chase Ostrom played tough defense with 3 steals and chipped in 7 points. West Lafayette B Team defeats Southwestern In their season opener, Ellis Furry got the Red Devils B team going with 6 points, of his 8, in the first quarter pushing them to a 15-9 lead. The Wildcats battled back to tie the game at 21 at halftime. Mert Yavuz was on fire in the third with 9 of his total 13 points. The fourth quarter saw Alvin Ajayi contribute 6 points toward the final victory of 39-32. Ira Dobson brought the energy all game with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
