The Lady Red Devils returned to Zionsville on Saturday for the second day of Sectional competition, taking 3rd place in the competition overall with a total team score of 342 points, behind Zionsville’s 1st place finish of 580 points and Harrison in 2nd place with 430 points. The Red Devils were led in points scored by Senior Captain Laurie Antalis, with a total of 52.5 points scored. Antalis was the only athlete not from Zionsville to earn the title of Sectional Champion, with a decisive win in the 100 Butterfly in a lifetime best time of 58.40. Antalis also placed 4th individual in the 200 Freestyle and swam on the 3rd place 200 Medley Relay and the 2nd place 400 Freestyle relay. A strong class of juniors, led by Chloe Chen, also scored more than 40 points each to propel the Red Devils to their 3rd place finish. Chen (46.5 points scored), Isabel Owens (43.5) and Madeline Umulis (41.5) all represented the team on two relays, as well as placed top 8 in both of their individual events. Both Red Devil divers advanced through two preliminary rounds in the morning, and finished strong earning two podium spots after the final rounds of diving, with sophomore Kynlee Dunbar placing 5th and freshman Ace Tyrrell placing 8th. Senior Captain Laurie Antalis leads the delegation as an individual event participant in the 100 Butterfly, as well as a member of the 400 Freestyle Relay. Antalis will be joined by relay team members Madeline Umulis, Isabel Owens and Chloe Chen, as well as relay alternates Natalie Cuttell, Tara Kim, and Estelle Seymour.
