West Lafayette Jr-Sr High School

The West Lafayette Girls Swim Team closed out the 2023-24 swim season with two final impressive efforts at the 2024 IHSAA Girls State Championship. Senior Captains Laurie Antalis and Lina Idrissi Alami led the 8-athlete state delegation, which also included juniors Chloe Chen, Isabel Owens and Madeline Umulis as well as freshmen Natalie Cuttell, Tara Kim and Estelle Seymour. Laurie Antalis, who earned her individual event bid by winning the 100 Butterfly at sectionals last week, lowered her career best time by .35 seconds at the IHSAA State Preliminaries with a time of 58.05, finishing in 20th place statewide. The Red Devils' 400 Freestyle Relay finished in 23rd place statewide. Swimming on the relay was Antalis, Umulis, Owens and Chen, with alternates Idrissi Alami, Cuttell, Kim and Seymour supporting their efforts. Congratulations to all of the Lady Red Devils on a fantastic season!
