Andy Dunn named WL Track & Field Head Coach

The West Lafayette Athletics Department is excited to announce Andy Dunn as the next head coach of the West Lafayette Track and Field program. Coach Dunn takes over a proud, well-respected program that has seen success at the conference, sectional, regional, and state levels. For the last 10 seasons, Coach Dunn was a critical member of the program while assisting long-time WL coach Lane Custer. Andy has helped coach 8 state qualifying athletes in individual events, as well as 5 state qualifying relays, and 8 school records for West Lafayette. He has also served 12 years as a youth coach for the Purdue Area Track Club for both cross country and track and field. In addition to track, Mr. Dunn is in his 5th school year teaching mathematics at West Lafayette Jr. Sr. High School. As a high school athlete, Andy was a 2-time state qualifier in the 400-meter dash and he is the school record holder for Franklin Community HS in the 400-meter dash. At Purdue University, Coach Dunn enjoyed a successful college career competing in the 400m dash, 400m hurdles, 600m run, 4x400m relay, and distance medley relay. Andy and his wife Kelsey live in West Lafayette with their two dogs, Desma and Gus. Kelsey was a former all-state runner for the Red Devils.
