Both 7th grade volleyball teams continue UNDEFEATED after playing Battleground on September 30th. The A team is currently 9-0, and the B team is 8-0. Both teams have had incredible seasons unlike either coach has seen before. The A team was gearing up for some good competition and came ready to bring it to the Tomahawks Monday evening. They knew the team had a good libero and had been working on hitting zones while serving and hitting in the practices leading up to the game. Coach White was very impressed with especially Janice Stahelin, Tabby Alexander, and Bella Garringer, who received a zone from the coach and served there with precision, putting a larger point difference between the two teams. The first set's score was 25-11, and the second set's score was 25-13. Meredith Andrew was on fire tonight with three aces and five kills. Tabitha Alexander also had five kills, strategically placing the ball where the defense was not. The B team also came out ready to play tonight. Their final scores were 25-5 and 25-11. Isla St. Hilaire had five kills and three aces. Marley DeWees found her stride tonight and had three kills and two aces. Aamna Khan had four aces, while Emma Collier and Nolla Furry each had three aces. Furry continues to grow in her leadership on the court, keeping the ball alive and keeping the team together in continual communication. The Red Devils have started giving Coach White suggestions on how she should dye her hair red if they do indeed finish the season with an undefeated record. If you have any knowledge about dying hair, please give her your best advice at your earliest convenience. Finally, the girls' biggest fan showed up again at the game - Mr. Fultz's granddaughter. Although she is occasionally more interested in her fruit snacks than giving fist bumps, she animates the team purely through her presence. She wishes the team luck as they face the Faith Christian Eagles on Thursday on West Lafayette's home court. Come see this talented team compete!
